June 7: South Florida to see return of showers and storms by midweek

After a mostly dry weekend across South Florida, the weather pattern is expected to change by the middle of the workweek.

Monday is expected to be mostly dry. A few morning showers cannot be ruled out across the Keys, with afternoon showers possible inland. Temperatures will be hot, reaching the upper 80s and lower 90s. Heat index values will approach triple digits.

A resurgence of deep tropical moisture is expected this week. Widespread showers and storms are set to build back across the region by midweek. Forecasters will continue to monitor the potential for downpours that could bring rounds of heavy rain.
