Tropical Depression Two formed in the Gulf late Sunday morning. While the storm will slowly push northwest where it will likely gain strength as Tropical Storm Bertha Monday, this tropical system will remain away from South Florida.

Indirect impacts will be possible by way of a few passing showers from its outer bands on Monday morning. By the afternoon, daytime heating, the sea breeze and outer bands could produce scattered showers and storms across South Florida. Some storms could bring heavy rain at times.

Hot temperatures will persist on Monday. Expect a high of 93 degrees in Miami with heat indices reaching 105 degrees or higher.
