After another warm and humid start to the day, there is a chance for a few isolated thundershowers through lunchtime. It will then be sunny, breezy, and hot this afternoon with highs in the lower and middle 90s and heat indices up to 108°. A Heat Advisory has been issued for Broward and Miami-Dade today. Most storms will focus inland during the afternoon, leaving coastal areas hot and dry into the early evening.
Tropical Depression 2 is forecast strengthen into a tropical storm today. We will have no direct impacts from this system this week, though drier air is forecast to filter in behind it midweek. This lower storm chance will keep temperatures above normal, with heat index values approaching Heat Advisory criteria each afternoon.
