As we come down the home stretch for the month of August, we’ve got some showers and thunderstorms in the forecast but most of these will occur in the morning with lots of dry time in the afternoon this weekend.

The seabreeze will move in earlier than usual so any showers early in the day will be pushed well inland by afternoon so plan accordingly if you have any outdoor plans this weekend.

We’re locked into this pattern through much of next week, so keep the umbrellas handy especially during the morning hours heading into the first week of September. Highs will average near normal in the lower 90s the next few days. We’re watching the remnants of former tropical storm Dolly because some of that left-over moisture could increase our rain chances here in South Florida later next week. Otherwise, all is relatively quiet in the tropics as we approach the statistical peak of the season soon.
