11 schools in Miami-Dade to distribute free food Friday

Miami-Dade sets up 11 distribution points to help families in need

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Miami-Dade County Public Schools set up 11 schools to distribute free food Friday. 

The distribution points will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until supplies last.

"It's our moral obligation to give back to our community during trying times," Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said

On Thursday, volunteers distributed about 30,000 Ready-to-Eat breakfast packs and meals at 10 public schools, according to Carvalho

The donations were from the Feeding South Florida Food Bank.

Here is the list of the schools:

  • E.W.F. Stirrup Elementary, 330 NW 97 Ave., Miami.
  • Miami Senior High, 2450 SW 1 St., Miami.
  • Booker T. Washington Senior, 1200 NW 6 Ave., Miami.
  • Hialeah Middle, 6027 East 7 Ave., Hialeah.
  • Miami Carol City Senior High, 3301 Miami Gardens Dr., Miami Gardens.
  • West Miami Middle, 7525 SW 24 St., Miami.
  • Liberty City Elementary, 1855 NW 71 St., Miami.
  • Feinberg/Fisher K-8 Center, 1420 Washington Ave., Miami Beach.
  • Homestead Senior High, 2351 SW 12 Ave., Homestead.
  • Robert Morgan Educational Center, 18180 SW 122 Ave., Miami. 
  • South Hialeah Elementary, 265 E. 5 St., Hialeah.
