Dania Beach issues boil water notice

Power outage at water plant raises concerns about water safety

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Dania Beach authorities issued a boil water notice Tuesday night for residents living in the area east of Anglers Avenue.

Philip W. Skidmore, the city's treatment manager, reported there was an FPL power outage at the water plant that caused a temporary failure.

"We advise as a precaution that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled," Skidmore said in a letter.

A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. The public will be notified when a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink again.
