FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – South Florida drivers searching for gas now that Hurricane Irma has departed may have a long wait ahead of them.
While most stations have power from generators, they do not have gas because deliveries have yet to resume.

Almost all gas delivered to Miami-Dade and Broward stations comes from trucks that load up at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
Petroleum companies with tanks at the port believe they have a four day supply of gas reserves on hand.
However, as of Monday evening, Port Everglades is still without power and remains closed. The facility will reopen once it receives approval from the U.S. Coast Guard.
