Police: Rumors of FEMA imposters robbing homes are not true

WESTON, Fla. – A wild rumor of imposters posing as FEMA officials and robbing homes has been dismissed by law enforcement officials.

Social media was inundated with rumors of people with fake FEMA credentials knocking on the doors of Weston homes and robbing the owners.

Many people were so scared, they called police for protection.

However, the City of Weston police department tweeted that there are no imposters from FEMA or any other government organization robbing homes.

Due to the massive amounts of rumors being shared throughout the state, the real FEMA has set up a rumor control page during the storm to dispel any incorrect information.
