45 members of Baptist Health provide aid to Hurricane Matthew victims in Haiti

Group takes care of minor injuries, major surgeries

MIAMI – Days after Hurricane Matthew devastated Haiti, a team of 45 medical professionals from Baptist Health were on the ground providing help.

They took care of patients in a clinic outside of Port Au Prince in Croix de Bouquets.

"Fifty people received surgeries. Many more received medical services and attention," said Calvin Babcock, the board chair at Baptist Health. 

From minor medical conditions to major surgeries,is for 10 years this team has done it all .

 Registered nurse Martha Pearson, a native of Haiti, is a regular on the mission.

 She said she never feels that it is enough.

"They know we are coming and they are already set up," Pearson said.
