Man dies after being shot in Miami, police confirm

MIAMI – Miami police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning.

According to police, the shooting was reported at 1:17 a.m. in the 100 block of Northwest 67th Street in the city’s Little Haiti neighborhood.

Police said officers arrived at the scene to find a man who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The man has since died from his injuries.

A Local 10 News crew was in the area later in the morning as police with guns drawn surrounded a house.

Less than a block away, children were headed off to school, unsure about what was happening.

Over a megaphone, police could be heard demanding two women and a man to leave the house with their hands up or police threatened to send in Miami police K9s.

Less than an hour later, the scene had mostly cleared, but the conclusion to the standoff was not clear at all as police have yet to announce any arrests and no one appears to have been removed from the home.

Detectives were seen taking photos of a bicycle before it was removed from the scene.

No other details were immediately released.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
