Rapper Pitbull meets with students at his alma mater Sylvania Heights Elementary as a show of support before their FCAT exams.

MIAMI – Rapper Pitbull made a surprise visit to his alma mater Friday to teach students an important lesson about perseverance and success.

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, spoke to third, fourth and fifth grade students at Sylvania Heights Elementary in West Miami who are preparing to take the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test in the next few weeks.

"He spoke about the success that comes when a person perseveres and works hard," said school principal Amor Reyes.

"Mr. 305," who is also Cuban-American with roots in Miami, takes great pride in giving back to South Florida.

Reyes said Pitbull promised he would be back for something special after their exams.
