Oscars preparations underway at Dolby Theatre

Red carpet has been rolled out

LOS ANGELES – Statues are being prepared to line the red carpet on Hollywood's biggest night on Sunday.

The round-the-clock construction is underway outside the Dolby Theatre for the Oscars.

There is a glamorous green room complete with a Venetian glass chandelier.

As for the main stage, it’s Derek McLane's job to design it.

His theme this year is 1930s glamour.

The set designs will include 300,000 Swarovski crystals.

"During the course of the evening, we probably have, I don't know exactly, 14 to 16 set changes," McLane said. "Most of them we do during commercial breaks, so we have to do them pretty quickly."

Back outside, the uncertain weather means a rain structure now covers the red carpet.

But not even a chance of rain could dampen the spirits of Miamians expected to walk down it for the movie "Moonlight."

Patrick Decile played Tarell, a neighborhood bully. He is coming to Los Angeles to celebrate the film success.

"It feels amazing," he said. "You know, like I told you before, I don't really know what to expect. But I'm hoping that, you know, I'm recognized, instead of, like, 'Hey, who's that?'"
