Rachael Ray's Burger Bash is a smash hit at SOBEWFF

Friday's burgers are tradition at South Beach Wine & Food Festival

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Burger Bash continues to grow in popularity, Chef Rachael Ray said.

It remains one of the most popular and mouth-watering events of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. As of Friday, tickets sold out and the event broke records in the process.

"Every year it gets bigger and bigger and there are people as far as you can see and everyone is having fun," the celebrity chef said. "Burgers are friendly. That's why I wanted to start this event."

The event is only one of the many at the SOBEWFF. There were celebrity judges from the Food Network and actor Neil Patrick Harris attended.

More than 30 world class chefs packed Miami Beach. They were determined to claim big bragging rights and prizes.

Festival goers vote for their favorite burgers while judges also hand pick specific chefs for specific titles.

All of the proceeds go to Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, to help future chefs and hospitality students get ahead in the food game.

The SobeWFF will continues at several venues through the weekend.
