110-year-old lobster nearing end of days at Sunrise seafood restaurant

Lobster lovers rejoice: Tin Fish to sell or serve nearly 15-pound crustacean

SUNRISE, Fla. ā€“ A Maine lobster that is older than Broward County will soon be served at a Sunrise seafood restaurant.

Tin Fish owner Joe Melluso said the 110-year-old lobster arrived Monday, weighing in at nearly 15 pounds.

The hefty lobster is quite the catch for the seafood restaurant, but a crustacean that large is too hearty not to be eaten, apparently.

"We could feel bad about it, but when I saw him today I figured that I'd rather be the guy to buy him and have him in my restaurant than someone else," Melluso said.

Melluso said he would consider selling the lobster to someone willing to buy it. Otherwise, the large lobster will be someone's dinner by Thursday.
