“An emergency order of closure is issued when an establishment allows conditions to persist that are an immediate danger to public health. Since 2018, DBPR has issued five emergency orders of closure to Y&C Restaurant.
“The most recent closure occurred on April 8, 2024, upon evidence of vermin activity during an inspection. DBPR conducted a mandatory follow-up inspection at Y&C Restaurant on April 9, 2024. During the mandatory follow-up inspection, no further evidence of vermin activity was observed. As such, the establishment was permitted to reopen.
“It is important to note that the DBPR Division of Hotels and Restaurants’ disciplinary process follows the requirements in Chapter 120 Florida Statutes, as well as the disciplinary guidelines adopted in Section 61C-1.005, Florida Administrative Code. Penalties are based on an establishment’s compliance history and the underlying administrative violation and can result in fines of up to $1,000 per offense, license suspension, and license revocation.”
