Gas prices to reach $1 a gallon?

Price drop due to lower oil prices, increased refinery capacity

ORLANDO, Fla. – Drivers who like the lower prices at the pump, may soon have even more to smile about.

Experts say gas prices could soon head toward the $1 a gallon mark.

According to reports by AAA and Gas Buddy, tumbling oil prices, combined with a strong refinery capacity could push the price of regular gas to near $1 a gallon, which were last seen in 1999.

For now, gas prices are still hovering near the $2 a gallon mark in most places around the country. 

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gas nationwide is $1.96 a gallon. In Florida, drivers are paying around $1.96 a gallon. 

In some states, gas can currently be found as low as $1.42 a gallon.
