The Mercedes-Benz Corporate run took place on Thursday, and while many runners were excited, the thought of the Boston Marathon was on many minds.
One runner said that seeing people on the sidelines holding bags was very distracting, it was a constant thought in the back of his mind.
There was a strong police force though.
There were officers on motorcycles, Segways, in patrol cars and standing along the fencing, and they were all scanning the thousands of runners from the ground and surveillance cameras.
There was also a pop-up field hospital as an enhanced precaution, as a result from the events that happened in Boston.
People were wearing pins showing support, and there was a sign hanging that read "We run for Boston."
It became an event that was a tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon.
