1 dead after argument leads to shooting in southwest Miami-Dade

Shooting suspect, 2 others stayed at scene, police say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead in southwest Miami-Dade County.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday near Southwest 200th Street and Southwest 122nd Avenue.

Miami-Dade police said a man was walking on the street when three males approached him. He began arguing with the group and ended up shooting one of the men, police said.

The victim, identified as Jarred Armont, 33, died at the scene.

Police said the man who fired the fatal shot and the two other men remained at the scene and were being questioned by detectives.

It's unclear whether charges will be filed.
