1 injured in police-involved shooting

Suspect in stable condition after being shot in shoulder by officer

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Monday morning in North Miami.

Around 3:30 a.m., police from both North Miami and Miami-Dade County responded to a call of a burglary in progress at 1595 NE 135th Street. It is unclear if the suspect was trying to burglarize a home or a vehicle.

The suspect ran about two blocks to a home at 1580 NE 137th Street, where he climbed onto the roof. 

A Miami-Dade Police officer shot the suspect, hitting him in the shoulder. He was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition as of 8:30 a.m.

Authorities have not said whether the man was armed. No police officers were hurt.
