MIAMI – A 37-year-old man was taken to a hospital after being hit by a boat propeller off the coast of Miami, authorities said.
It happened Saturday afternoon near Nixon Beach.
The man suffered a leg injury after jumping off a 53-foot catamaran, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
A boat crew arrived at the scene and took the man to Mercy Hospital in Miami. He was then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
A Miami Department of Fire-Rescue unit assisted the Coast Guard in taking the victim to Mercy's emergency room.
