2 arrested for shooting paintball gun at Miami Springs High, police say

MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. – Two 18-year-old men are facing charges after shooting a paintball gun on the campus of Miami Springs Senior High School on Monday and injuring two people.

According to the arrest reports, Joel Rodriguez and Juan Gil claimed that they were at the school "to get a student by the name of Mike."

Police said Rodriguez was riding in a car driven by Gil when he fired several rounds at the victims, striking one person in the left arm and a woman in the chest.

Both men were taken into custody and are facing numerous charges, including battery and trespassing on school grounds.

Police said both men do not attend the high school.
