BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - Two dead bodies were found Tuesday inside a vehicle submerged in a west Broward canal.
The bodies were identified by authorities as Sebastian Ramos, 21, who was a student at Florida Gulf Coast University and lived in Estero, and Joshua Lausche, 25, of Bonita Springs.
Ramos' Mazda 3 was found in the canal just off Interstate-75.
It's unclear who was driving, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.
WINK reports that Ramos and Lausche, were last seen leaving the Hard Rock Hotel in Sunrise at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Investigators believe the men may have been returning home from a concert at the hotel when they failed to negotiate a curve and went into the retention pond.
"As you can see the damage on the car and the car actually went up the incline, so it actually went up in the canal." FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.
Crews extricated the car from the canal after someone in the area notified authorities.
The car is believed to have been in the canal for several days.
It's unclear whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
