FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

Two men were rescued from the water off Port Everglades after their boat drifted ashore while they were diving for lobsters.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said the empty boat was spotted around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

One of the divers was spotted on the beach. He told authorities he began chasing after the boat once he realized it had broken loose from its anchor. The second man continued diving and became low on air. He surfaced and used a signaling device to wave down Ocean Rescue, who quickly picked him up on a jet ski.

Neither diver was injured.
