Coast Guard crew rescues men on remote island

MIAMI ā€“ Two men were rescued off a Bahamian island Tuesday afternoon by the U.S. Coast Guard, authorities said.

U.S. Coast Guard officials said the men were ferrying a motor boat from Turks and Caicos to Fort Pierce, Florida, when the boat began taking on water and eventually ran aground on Lady Slipper Key, north of Crooked Island, Bahamas.

A rescue helicopter crew arrived at the scene and took the two men safely aboard.

Once aboard the helicopter, the men were taken to Great Inagua, Bahamas, officials said.

No medical concerns were reported.
