The most seriously injured was officer Saul Rodriguez, a 13-year-veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department. He was shot in the stomach and rushed into surgery. He is listed in stable condition.

Two other Miami Dade officers were shot in the arm. They were identified as officers David Williams and Jimmy Harrell. Both were released from the hospital.

Two Miami police officers more were also taken to JMH, suffering ear pain from being too close to the barrage of bullets exchanged during the gunfire. A Hialeah Police officer was also injured by shattered glass. All three were also released from the hospital.

Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez saw the officers as soon as he could.

"The two officers I saw were fine," Gimenez said. "The third officer has a good prognosis."

Police Union President John Rivera was relieved that none of the officers lost their lives, but was still amazed at the brazen criminals.

"These two bad guys commit a crime, then they flee and come back to the general area." Rivera said.
