Motorcycle lands on car on I-95

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Two men are recovering after a motorcycle landed on top of a car on Interstate 95, causing both vehicles to catch fire Monday afternoon.

The motorcycle was on the northbound exit ramp to State Road 84 and was attempting to head west, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Instead, the motorcycle hit the median, knocking the motorcyclist off but sending the vehicle into the northbound lanes of the interstate.

Flames erupted from both vehicles.

Bret Krupnick, the driver of the car, made it out safely. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood with non-life threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist was taken to Broward Health in good condition.

I-95 northbound at S.R. 84 was shut down for several hours following the crash, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

In February, the passenger of a box truck was killed when the vehicle crashed in to the cement wall on the westbound ramp.

The Florida Department of Transportation plans on adding more signs advising drivers to slow down when exiting.
