Police say man's death appears to be suicide

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police are investigating after a man's body washed ashore Friday morning on the beach in Fort Lauderdale.

The body was discovered about 8 a.m. along the shore behind the 2400 block of North Atlantic Boulevard.

A view from Sky 10 showed a police officer standing next to a body that was covered by a yellow tarp on the sand.

Fort Lauderdale police Detective Tracy Figone said the body was identified as Abu Nasher, 40, of Pompano Beach.

Figone said his death appears to be a suicide.
