Early morning crash on I-95 near Atlantic Boulevard kills driver

Police investigating what led up to fatal crash in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A man is dead after a crash involving two SUVs on Interstate 95 in Pompano Beach.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one person was killed in the crash, which took place shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-95 just south of Atlantic Boulevard. 

The force of the crash took both vehicles, a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo and a 2008 Saturn Vue, onto the grassy shoulder. 

That's where one of the drivers was pronounced dead. 

Troopers later identified the victim as Ariond Noezile, 42, of Pompano Beach. 

The driver of the second vehicle, a 20-year-old woman from Miami Gardens, was not injured.
