MIRAMAR, Fla. – Three carjacking suspects were taken into custody after the stolen car crashed into a canal.
The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in a canal near Miramar Parkway and Palm Avenue.
Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues said an officer spotted the stolen Nissan Altima at a Hess gas station and attempted a traffic stop, but the car sped off.
While fleeing from police, the car lost control and crashed into the canal, Rues said.
Two men and a woman in the car were arrested.
Rues said the car had been reported stolen Monday in western Broward County.
