CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Authorities were looking for a 32-year-old man who allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl, after pursuing her on Instagram, police said Tuesday.

The girl told police -- that before they had sex -- she lied to Jose De Angulo about her age.  Coral Gables police officer Jimmy McKee said in the arrest report that the girl told De Angulo she was 18.

When De Angulo got suspicious and asked her about her age again, "she did not respond and merely smiled at him," McKee said.

McKee added that the teen said the two had been out on about five to six dates, before they had sex at his place in Coral Gables over the weekend.

The teen told police that to deceive her mom, she went to her 17-year-old friend's place in downtown Miami, where De Angulo picked her up in a white BMW M6 convertible.

When De Angulo dropped the teen back off at her friend's apartment Sunday, a relative -- who was there early to pick her up -- saw her getting out of his car, McKee said.

Coral Gables police officer Kelly Denham said they wanted to arrest De Angulo, because the girl was victimized. De Angulo could be facing a charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Police were asking anyone with information to call 305-442-1600.
