4 teens, 3 adults injured in drive-by shooting

Miami-Dade police searching for newer-model sedan

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Seven people, ranging in age from 15 to 43 years old, were injured Sunday night in a drive-by shooting that took place in northwest Miami-Dade.

Police said the victims were standing in front of a residence in the 8000 block of Northwest 14th Avenue when a newer-model, dark blue sedan pulled up with four or five people inside.

Shots were then fired from inside the vehicle, police said, and seven people were struck.

The victims were taken to nearby hospitals.

Tamyra Mildort,17, is listed in serious condition, police said.

The other victims -- Tekeiki Taylor, 43, Alfredo Hudson, 30, Ramont Gage, 15, Dewayne Leon, 18, Aaliyah Barr, 17 and Shaquanna Ross, 20, are listed in stable condition, police said.

Ramont's mom told Local 10 News that her son was shot in the buttocks, arm and leg.

She said this is the second time Ramont has been shot since 2015.

"It's not right, because we all could've lost our kids," Leon's mom, Monique Walden, said.

Stevondra Hyatt witnessed her cousin, Tamyra, getting shot.

"I thought it was fireworks at first and when I turned around I heard someone screaming and I looked and it was her on the ground. That's what made me jump out the car and run to her," Hyatt said.

Tamyra was shot twice in the back, Hyatt said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
