6 injured when car crashes head-on into Fort Lauderdale home

Crash damages trampoline where 2 children had been playing

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Cellphone video captured the chaotic scene after a car crashed into a house Tuesday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale.

As paramedics treated the injured people on the floor, a man recorded the damaged carport and a trampoline on which two children, 5 and 6-year-old brothers, were playing just moments before the crash.

"The car came from that way, and it kind of tipped the trampoline a little bit and it (lifted) with the kids in it," a witness said. "Thank God they were able to come out."

The crash took place in the 400 block of Dayton Circle, just east of U.S. Highway 441 and south of Broward Boulevard.

"(There) was a body stuck under the car. So I thought he was dead," a witness said.

A tow truck removed one of the two damaged cars involved in the crash.

In all, six people were taken to an area hospital, including a child.

"I asked them if they were OK. I offered them water," Gyrodsen Cesar, who helped the injured, said.
