Bal Harbour police chief hurt in crash

Police: Vehicle rear-ended chief's car

BAL HARBOUR, Fla. – The Bal Harbour chief of police was injured in a car crash Thursday morning. 

The crash occurred at Northeast 14th Avenue and 135th Street.

Bal Harbour police said Chief Tom Hunker was in an unmarked car, stopped at a red light, when another car rear-ended his vehicle. 

Hunker, who has been police chief for eight years, was taken to Aventura Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
