NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – North Miami police upgraded the charges against a man accused in a hit-and-run.
Willie Joseph Pitts, Jr. is charged in the death of 45-year-old Philogene Charles.

Police say Pitts, 31, hit Charles and then drove away. Police found him asleep in his car about five blocks away from where the crash happened.
Charles died Sunday from his injuries.
Pitts will be charged with DUI manslaughter, police said Wednesday.
