Crews begin repainting water tower
'Visit Hollywood' design to promote tourism
Crews began repainting the water tower on Sheridan Street, just east of A1A, in Hollywood.
The white heron and sun illustration will be replaced with a new design with the words "Visit Hollywood Florida." Eastbound drivers will see a beach scene and westbound drivers will see mangroves.
City officials said the $15,000 new look will promote tourism.
Two years ago, the city painted the water tower along I-95 at Sheridan Street. The underwater scene earned a "Best Tank Design" award in 2011.
