FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

The Broward Sheriff's Office arrested a man in connection with the shooting of a deputy at a Lauderdale Lakes nightclub in 1999.

Deputies arrested 40-year-old Omar Treasure on Sunday. He was charged as an accessory to attempted first-degree murder on a police officer.

According to an arrest affidavit, the shooting happened on Dec. 12, 1999. Keyan Bucknor is accused of shooting deputy Al Hibbert. He told police Treasure gave him a 9mm semiautomatic handgun used in the shooting.

Bucknor told police Treasure gave him $400,000 after the shooting and told him to leave South Florida.

Hibbert recovered following the shooting.

Another deputy, Michael Doane, was killed as a result of injuries he suffered in a crash while responding to the nightclub shooting.
