MIAMI, Fla – The Miami Marlins are going head-to-head with Miami-Dade County, after it was discovered the team was storing supplies in one of the four city-owned garages at Marlin's Park.
According to the Miami Herald, county officials want the team to pay an additional $30,000 dollars in rent for using the Center Field garage for personal use. The team apparently has been storing supplies in the garage since a dismal number of fans are actually attending their games.

The city of Miami says the team is using about 18,000 square feet of space on the garage's first floor to store pallets of supplies.
The Herald reports that Miami's director of public facilities, Henry Torre sent an e-mail to a team official stating that the baseball team still owes the city $24,000 in back rent, for using parking spaces during last year's baseball season.
Torre said the team did not pay the $24,000 because flooding in a parking lot made some spaces unusable. The Marlins currently rent about 5,700 parking spaces but are not authorized to use any of the garages as storage.
It is unclear how long the Marlins have been storing items in the garage for.
