Miramar police chief retires

Keith Dunn retires as chief of police; Ray Black replaces him

MIRAMAR, Fla. ā€“ Miramar Police Chief Keith Dunn retired Thursday.

Dunn served in the Miramar Police Department for 33 years. He served on road patrol, as a K-9 officer, in the criminal investigations division, as an instructor, a motorcycle officer, and as the agency's first school resource officer, and became chief of police in 2009.

Dunn also plays the bagpipes in the Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida band.Ā 

Assistant Chief Ray Black was promoted to chief of police. He began his law enforcement career with the Miramar Police Department in 1977.
