MIAMI – A driver intentionally hit a man with a car, police say.
It happened at NW 8th Avenue and 29th Street.
Witnesses said the altercation started with yelling. After that, someone got into a car and ran down a man in the middle of the street, police said.
"It was a lot of people screaming. I heard noises and things like that," said witness Cesar Ballerini. "A second later, I heard the noise, probably the car hitting someone. But I can't tell. I saw a car leaving."
The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police said the driver who hit the man is not in custody, but they know the identity of the person they're looking for.
The case is being considered an aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
