Program gets men suited up to help them find a job

'Suited for Success' founded 18 years ago

MIAMI – Let's reverse the phrase "the man makes the clothes."

For this program in Overtown, it's all about the clothes making a difference in the lives of men who simply want a job opportunity.

Eighteen years ago, Sonia Jacobsen founded "Suited for Success."

"I've had men physically cry. Some say they haven't worn a suit in 20, 25 years -- maybe they have never worn a suit," Jacobsen said.

She also teaches basic interviewing skills.

Seeing Jacobsen work inspired the men at Local 10 to get involved.

Local 10 collected nearly 50 suits, numerous shirts, dozens of pairs of shoes and some great ties.
