MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida reality TV star may get approval to tear down her Star Island home.

Bravo's "Real Housewives of Miami" star, Lisa Hochstein and her husband and plastic surgeon, Leonard Hochstein will attend a hearing Tuesday, March 5, with Miami Beach's Design Review Board. The meeting will determine whether they can begin tearing down their 1920s home and start construction on a new home.

Preservationists have been fighting to prevent the demolition of the 88-year-old house and have been attempting to get the board to deem the property a historic landmark.

The Miami Design Preservation League can appeal the decision if the board rules the Hochteins can begin bulldozing their home.
