Sixteen buses would not start because their batteries were stolen while they sat in the north satellite lot on Northwest 18th St. in Pompano Beach.

The county sent backup buses to help alleviate the situation.

We are told that the buses will resume on their normal schedule on Monday afternoon.

There is no word who stole the batteries or when they were stolen, but police have seen this type of crime before as thieves can easily turn and sell the stolen batteries.
