MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Miami Gardens food mart owner earlier this month.
Damu Bridgewater, 15, is suspected in the death of Shahid Mahmood, 58 .

Police said Mahmood was sitting in his SUV outside the America Food Mart at the corner of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 158th Street at about 1 a.m. on Aug. 11, about to go home. Someone pulled up in another car, got out and shot him several times, police said.
A clerk on duty inside the store ran outside to find Mahmood had been shot in the chest.
Police said Mahmood died of his injury.
Miami Gardens police said the teenager faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and dealing in stolen property. He is being held at the Miami-Dade Juvenile Assessment Center.
