Armed man robs Fort Lauderdale bank

Man left with undisclosed amount of money

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The FBI has released a photograph of a man they say robbed the Bank United branch at 808 SE 17 St. in Fort Lauderdale.

The robbery happened about 11:40 a.m. Thursday.

FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said the robber entered the bank, claimed he had a gun and demanded cash from a bank employee.

Marshall said money was stolen, but he didn't release the amount.

No customers were inside the store when the robbery occurred.
