Armed robbery caught on camera outside Hollywood McDonald's

Electronics stolen from victim's minivan

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The Hollywood Police Department is searching for a man involved in an armed robbery outside of a McDonald's restaurant.

The incident was reported Jan. 31 at the McDonald's at 2690 Stirling Road.

Newly released surveillance video shows the robber inside of the fast-food restaurant before approaching the victim, Shan Lovarson, 62, outside near Lovarson's minivan.

Police said the robber followed Lovarson to his car and pulled out a 10 to 12-inch kitchen knife.

Surveillance video shows the two struggling before Lovarson runs back inside the restaurant.

Police said the robber reached into Lovarson's vehicle and stole an Acer laptop, a Polaroid smartphone and a Nikon camera before running away.

The thief is described as a black man, believed to be in his 20s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a full set of gold teeth. He was last seen wearing a distinctive black and white bandana-print hooded sweater, dark pants and red sneakers.
