Bloody, bullet-riddled car linked to deadly shooting, family says

Family gathers at hospital; police investigate

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ A shaken Charlene Yarborough cried Sunday morning as she walked to the doors of Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Her son, Courtney Yarborough, was driven there in a white Nissan Altima.

Yarborough's family said he was shot at the clubĀ Extacy about 4 a.m. near Northwest 79thĀ Street and Northwest Seventh Avenue.

This is the same location where Miami-Dade police said one person was killed and another injured in a shooting Sunday morning. Police said the injured person was driven to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Ā

Courtney Yarborough, the only other victim, was driven to Ryder Trauma Center in a vehicle that had its back window shot out, along with bullet holes and blood stains throughout its body.

The sight of the vehicle was too much for the mother to take.

"My son, my son,"Ā cried Charlene Yarborough as she walked. "Jesus."

Charlene Yarborough said her son was shot in the hand and head, and was carried into the hospital by the driver of that vehicle.

The mother said her son is "doing fine" after the incident,Ā  and that she is "OK," too.

Other family members showed up at Ryder Trauma Center throughout the morning, passing by the car that is surrounded by yellow police tape.

Police searched the Altima for evidence throughout the morning.

Willie Jackson, passed by the club where he says his grandson was shot and killed.

Ā "So sad," he said. "I went to this club back when I was young, and I never thought I'd see my grandson die in the parking lot here, but that's reality in Liberty City."

Sources told Local 10 News that the shooting may have involved a security guard from the club.

Police are still investigating the incident.

"All these people just keep talking about ISIS, ISIS, ISIS," Ā Jackson said. "ISIS is here. ISIS is not killing our people. We are killing each other. Black on black. I donā€™t know whatā€™s going on."
