Boy struck by motor scooter

Scooter driver will likely be cited, police say

WEST PARK, Fla.A 14-year-old boy was injured when he was hit by a motor scooter as he walked toward his stopped school bus Tuesday morning, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at Southwest 56th Avenue and 25th Street.

According to police, the teen had been walking across Southwest 56th Avenue when he was hit by the southbound motor scooter.

They teen was transported to Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital. His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, according to BSO.

The driver of the scooter, an adult male, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Police say he will likely be cited with passing a stopped school bus.
