FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Broward County sheriff's detention deputy was arrested Tuesday after she knowingly and repeatedly made false entries on records maintained in the official jail management system logbook, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
Detention Deputy Angela McNeal, 50, turned herself in at 3 p.m.

BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said the incidents were recorded on surveillance video on seven separate days. She faces seven counts of falsifying a public or court document.
McNeal, whose salary is almost $66,000, was released from jail on bond and has been suspended with pay. Coleman-Wright said she will be suspended without pay once the state attorney's office files formal charges.
"The overwhelming majority of deputies do things the right way every day for the safety of our community," Sheriff Scott Israel said. "BSO is committed to maintaining the public's trust. We believe in accountability and transparency. When laws are broken, appropriate action will be taken. No one is above the law."
