BSO: 3 shot up home where family of 6 lived

Video shows white sport utility vehicle dropping off shooters

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for four men involved in shooting at a home where a family of six lived.

The shooting happened in the 2900 block of Northwest 6th Court about 12:27 a.m. Tuesday.

In surveillance video released by BSO, three hooded men fire their weapons while retreating to a white sport utility vehicle. They used two pistols and an assault rifle.

A 36-year-old woman and her four children were home at the time, but no one was injured. The mother said the youngest child who was inside the home at the time of the shooting was 10 years old.

The woman's husband told investigators he saw a white SUV circling the area the day before the shooting.

"It lasted a good minute. I couldn't even tell you how many I heard," the woman told Local 10's Carlos Suarez. "A lot of gunshots. I just laid down and made sure my kids was fine."

In the video, the SUV drops off the three shooters, then parks a block away as the driver waits for them.

"It has to be an example made of those guys, because it could happen to somebody else and somebody else could die," said the woman.

A second camera captured the white SUV speeding away and the men were not too far behind.

A man who lives at the house with his family said he went to a nearby convenience store a few minutes before the shooting. No sooner did he get out of his car when he said he knew something had happened.

"Shocked. Just heart hurting not knowing if anybody got shot," he said. "My wife and kids anybody, you know, that was in the house."

While it's unclear who the intended target was, it does appear the gunmen knew the home they were taking aim at.

Detectives said the same white SUV was seen driving up the street a day before the shooting.

"You just watching everything. Watching everybody. You don't trust anybody at this point," the woman said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call BSO at 954-321-4544 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
