TAMARAC, Fla. – A woman planned to sell $275,000 worth of counterfeit designer items at the Swap Shop, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Police arrested 55-year-old Rajwante Rambharat at her home Wednesday.
"We believe she was getting ready for the holiday season," said Jeff Cirminiello with the Broward Sheriff's Office. "I haven't seen anything like this in my career, this amount of goods."
Deputies found 500 counterfeit items inside her home, including 80 counterfeit Coach, Louis Vutton, Gucci, Hermes, Salvatore, Chanel, Michael Kors, and Prada purses, according to BSO.
"Her home was actually being used as a small warehouse," said Cirminiello. "It was wall-to-wall packed with all this merchandise."
Deputies charged Rambharat with selling or offering to sell counterfeit goods of $20,000 or more, and she may face more charges.
"This merchandise, we believe, is coming in containers from China. She is part of a larger group," said Cirminiello.
